Isha Dhody

I completed my schooling from DPS Mathura Road, 2005. DPS brings memories of joy and fun, at the same time, memories of nervousness and fears too (exams!!). I made friendships at DPS that stand strong even today. It was an interesting journey as I had my elder brother and mother in the same school. My father too had completed his schooling from DPS.

DPS introduced me to Psychology which became my area of interest and this marked a beginning of a journey. I pursued BA (Hons) in Psychology from Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University; as part of my graduation I also undertook volunteer work in the field of Mental Health in various NGO's and medical settings.

After completion of my graduation I got the opportunity to pursue Master's in Social Sciences, Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The knowledge and experience I gained provided me with a strong base to develop perspective and sensitivity towards social issues. I completed a Research study as part of master's degree - 'Understanding Perspective on Treatment, Care and Rehabilitation in Mental Health Institutions.'

In 2010, I completed my master's and got selected by Ealing Council, to work in the department of Children Services in the UK. This was my first work experience and I practiced as a frontline Social Worker for several years following which I moved into management roles and at present I work as Strategic Manager for Children's Centres.

I live on my own in London and carry a busy work life. In my free time I like to watch movies, listening to music. I am very fond of travelling and I play badminton.
